Yash Sinha - Week 10 - The Greatest Power
The Greatest Power
As we transition into this new theme of blogs — power — it is important to know what power is. By definition, power is the ability to do something in a particular way. Yet to me, it means much more than that. Although this is definitely one way to describe what power is, there are certainly numerous definitions. In my opinion, everything has power. Art has the power to be admired, air has the power to be inhaled and exhaled. I also believe that there are many different types of powers in the world. The strongest power in my opinion is definitely the power of love.
Love is what inspires people to make decisions. It is what motivates people to continue in life and overcome obstacles. Love is the first power we experience (besides gravity) and it only gets stronger as we grow. We learn to love different objects such as toys we had since a kid, different activities, and most importantly, different people.
Everybody feels love at one point in their life regardless of what they may believe. Love is such a pure emotion, yet it is extremely strong. The feeling of being loved can completely change the behavior of somebody and bring positivity in one’s life. Overall, love can have such detrimental effects on one’s life and it is extremely important to remember what love can do to someone. As you read this, make sure to let the people around you know that they are loved, as you don’t know what this act may result in.

Hi Yash! Given the sheer amount of "power of friendship" and "power of love" stories in existence, it's easy to say that everyone recognizes the power of love. However, I feel that as we grow older and more disillusioned with the world, we lose sight of love. I find myself lucky to have caring parents who take every opportunity to let me know that I am loved, which in recent years, has drastically helped with this. Hopefully everyone is able to internalize love and find happiness in themselves!
ReplyDeleteHi Yash! I thought it was pretty cool how you were able to show that power exists in so many forms everywhere. I enjoyed reading about the way your blog transitioned to primarily focusing on love, elaborating on the aspect of growth as it transforms the longer it stays with us. Your take on the way love affects the behaviors of different people was really interesting. I can't help but agree, especially considering how amazing it feels to experience being loved by different people in my life and the sheer "positivity," as you so put it, it brings into my daily life. Love really is an insanely strong emotion that constantly affects us in so many different ways. I am someone that strongly believes that it's sometimes important to further investigate that feeling to truly understand why I appreciate certain people in my life so much. Sometimes I can't help but send a random text just letting certain people know that they're a really great friend and that I really appreciate having them in my life, but these simple words tend to always leave a great impact on both me and these friends, showing just how much even simple words of love can affect the way people view themselves and others.
